Irina Shamaeva is an Executive Recruiter, a Partner, and the Chief Sourcer at Brain Gain Recruiting, an executive search firm that specialises in placing senior level software development, IT, and strategy consulting candidates nationwide. She is an expert and an authority in Boolean, semantic, and deep web search; social networks and advanced sourcing productivity tools. Irina won the first SourceCon’s Challenge in 2010 and was a Speaker at SourceCon 2011.
While Irina does hands-on sourcing work, she creates innovative sourcing approaches and invents new tips, which she has been sharing with fellow recruiters in presentations and online posts. More than twenty thousand people have attended her webinars and corporate training sessions in the last two years.
Irina has created successful recruiting communities: the Boolean Strings LinkedIn group, the Boolean Strings Ning network, and Twitter, Google+ and Facebook for Sourcing and Recruiting groups, with a total population of 25K+ members from 70+ countries around the globe. She maintains an active blog “Boolean Strings” where she publishes sourcing advice that has enjoyed 150K + visits to-date.
Recently, in March 2012, Irina opened a unique Peoplesourcing Certification Program, covering everything necessary to quickly find the top qualified professional profiles on the Internet: search engines, social networks, tools, and sourcing processes. The first round has signed up students from nine countries, major corporations such as Microsoft, Walmart, and Pepsi, as well as a large number of agency recruiters. Attendees have reported that the program has a potential to become a world-wide standard in sourcing certifications.
Prior to Brain Gain Recruiting, Irina held engineering and management leadership positions at biotech and high technology companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Applied Biosystems, MDL, and e-Motion. Irina holds a Master of Science Degree in Mathematics from Moscow University.
