Alan has over twenty years’ experience in Recruitment and HR leadership, focussing on strategy design and delivery.
Having worked initially in Search for high tech markets, he started up and developed an international search consultancy to a revenue of over £1M(GBP), then was part of the first RPO on site team with Fonterra / Futurestep, before setting up and leading the Westpac NZ Recruitment, Retention and L&D teams.
Now, as part of the HR Leadership Team at the University of Auckland, he is relating organisational strategy to new HR and recruitment models which deliver real benefits to match the business requirements. Alan is lead on HR strategy and KPI development, and has a background in Six Sigma for process design and change management using Prosci. Currently Alan is leading the development of a recruitment and talent function including a new full service inhouse recruitment model, and other strategic projects developing talent sourcing and social media, HRIS, employment brand, international immigration and onboarding, succession planning and internal mobility.
